Executive Officer

Commander Joshua S. Reyher, a native of New Buffalo, Michigan, graduated the University of Michigan in 1993. Upon earning his Naval Flight Officer Wings of Gold he reported to the Wall Bangers of VAW-117.  Deploying on board USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) and USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), he deployed on two WESTPACs, two counter narcotic detachments.  During this time the command executed Operation Southern Watch and carried out contingency operations during Operation Desert Fox. Following VAW-117, Commander Reyher transferred to the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center (NSAWC), in Fallon, Nevada.

Commander Reyher returned to the West Coast Hawkeye community and reported to the Golden Hawks of VAW 112 in September 2002 where he served as the squadron’s Weapons and Tactics Instructor and continuing on as a Department Head.  He completed two WESTPACs on board USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) in support of the Global War on Terror.

Commander Reyher’s ensuing joint tour was with Defense Intelligence Agency’s Office of Collections.  He supported the Joint Staff J2 and Combatant Commanders by prioritizing use of low density high demand assets.

Commander Reyher’s previous assignment was to the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN-71) as the STRIKE OPERATIONS Officer and Executive Agent for the Naval Aviation Enterprises Carrier Readiness Team.

Commander Reyher has accumulated over 2,000 flight hours and 500 carrier arrested landings. He is authorized to wear the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Aerial Achievement Medal  (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various unit, campaign and service awards.
